Kathryn Maclean

Hello there  – Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the web.  Did you know that the about page is the most clicked page on a website? It’s true!  A couple of things you should know about me right away are that I love the internet and social media.   I love commerial art it’s what I specialized in high school with a particular slant on marketing. Who knew that many many years later  I would have a business in marketing on a world wide web. I am also in love with the world of small business, as I have had my own biz for 10 yrs.

So here are some things you should know…

1. I am Fast. Work is done quickly!
This doesn’t mean your project will be done in a week, but  it does mean that I have a  willingness to reach out via phone, text, and email in 24 hours. (unless it’s the weekend)

2. I will not overcharge you.
I don’t hide my knowledge behind a paywall. I write tutorial articles for people to use…INSTEAD of hiring me. That way, when you do hire me, I know it’s because you want to work with someone who has experience. You value that and I appreciate it. You know that knowledge only goes so far. Sometimes, it’s a human’s help that you need. Right?
Because of this– people trust me. That KLT factor. They know when they work with me one on one, I will help them manage their own site, and I won’t charge astronomical prices.

3. However I’m not cheap.
That a selling point? Yes! Because I know what I’m worth, and I know other people don’t offer what I do. You’ll get my full attention and help. I won’t leave you in the dust when our contract has ended. You’ll pay competitive rates, but get much more than the other designers offer; someone to call when the crap hits the fan (which it will eventually – plan on it.)

4. I know what I don’t know.
I’m not pretending I’m a tech geek. When and if you want something I can’t do, I know where to find it and how to get it. When things go wrong, I know where to get you help.

5. I’m building relationships with other services.
I have connections with app developers, graphic designers, and photographers who can take your site to the next level, if you so choose. I’m always on the hunt for bigger, better businesses that can help me…and subsequently…you.

6. I’m about functionality, practicality, independence, and design. You to feel a sense of ownership over your website. There’s no reason why you can’t save  money by learning the ins and outs of WordPress maintenance. I’ll teach you how to do it. I’m as concerned about your site’s niche, marketability, speed, and functionality as I am about how it looks.

7. I’m a writer. An Expert Author with Power Affiliate Club. This may seem a bit odd to list as a credential, but are you still reading? It’s because I know how to keep you reading. I can help you develop content that sells through training and consulting. Joining a Blogging Community is key in getting known in the blog world. I am the welcome coordinator at PAC.

8. I’m a social media addict. A Social Media Campaign. Specialist. In the online world, your social media presence is as important as your website. I can get you out there. I can teach you Twitter, Google +, Pinterest, and of course…Facebook. You’ll learn how to market your content for optimal viewing.

I have met – online, many wonderful women marketers and bloggers. I belong to a community of bloggers and affiliates.

Each blogger has her own way to market based on her own style and way of teaching. No two women do it quite like another, they are unique and this is how they are successful.  I  have two women coaches and a blogging community leader that I support for now. If you would like to be featured on my blog send me an email to racicotmail@gmail.com (subject: Women who make an Impact) and we can get together and chat.

On this site are some of my favorite women marketers, because they appeal  to me personally as well as many others. Marketing is a training or development process via which an individual is supported while achieving a specific personal or professional competence result or goal. Occasionally, the term coaching may be applied to an informal relationship between two individuals where one has greater experience and expertise than the other and offers advice and guidance as the other goes through a learning process, but coaching differs from mentoring – by focusing upon competence specifics, as opposed to general overall development with mentoring.

Marketing is similar in that you are using the internet, but differently.  Marketing  isn’t a department, it’s the story of how you create a difference  for your customers.  The purpose  – selling that product or service.

The set of engagements necessary for successful marketing management includes capturing marketing insights, connecting with customers, building strong brands, shaping the market offerings, delivering and communicating value, creating long-term growth, and developing marketing strategies and plans that include the use of many social media marketing platforms: I use these everyday ….
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+ and Pinterest.

I have completed an extensive social media certified campaign specialist  training course with Tina  Williams and the Bold Angels. I work with  women coaches with their own small businesses, who need to market their services online  with:

  • website creation –  websites / blogs  mobile sites
  • blog/website creation for WordPress .org (with hosting)   and blogger
  • social media platforms (all main platforms)
  • lead generation- businesses that specialize in leads

Marketing Business Opportunities
The old style of marketing was push type marketing which involved high-pressure sales tactics or manipulation to get you to enroll into some business opportunity. This style of network marketing tactics were to hard-sell the prospect into signing up right now into the business, but when you do a lot of hard-sell marketing, you will get a lot of cancellations.
A much better way is…

Pull a Prospect to You with Attraction Marketing
So, instead of pushing people, you want to pull someone to you. Magnetic attraction. Pull them into your vision. Paint a picture for your prospect and let them see the benefit of joining your opportunity. When

speaking with a prospect pull them into your opportunity by asking questions.

Here are some questions you might want to ask:
– What would extra income enable you to do?
– What will you do if you were able to replace your income?
– Why would you want to create more income?

What would you do if you have more options in life than just being stuck at a 9 to 5 job?

Where do you find people to pull towards you?
Nothing is more important than choosing your correct niche.
Every other part of your marketing process depends on having groups of buyers, able and excited to buy your product.

Some guide lines to ensure that the market place is sustainable.
How large is the market?
Are people buying in that market?

Some guide lines to ensure that the market place is sustainable.
Do your research… look at magazines for ideas. If there is a magazine about the market it’s a good indicator of the public interest.
Do a Google search for your top three keywords.
More than 30,000 per month shows a good market interest.

Check to see if there are:
active Facebook pages on the subject
active Forums centered around the niche
active Blogs on the areas of expertise on the subject
active Email Newsletters
active Google paid ads on the subject

Is this market making money?

Look at the competition -compare what they are doing.
Check to see what advertiser
are being used.
Are their affiliate offers such as Clickbank, JVZoo or others.
What influential people are associated with your market?

Your Hub
Next after making sure you have the right niche that is making money you need to direct all your business from a website or blog. A blog is essential. This is the hub of your entire business with social media hovering like space ships around the mother ship.

You will be sending people to the blog to find out more about your-self and what your business does as well as more about yourself. More information is available there than just an ad or a squeeze page. People will get to know you and what type of work you do. The Know Like and Trust factor is so important in Attraction Marketing.

Pictures speak volumes, so they are an important part of your posts. Blog articles on your niche subject help make you the go-to expert that they are looking for to solve their problems or their pain.

Traffic To Your Offers
To get people to your blog there are many ways to do so:
. offer a Lead Magnet – an e-book, video or check list
. offer a Tripwire – a small investment to gauge interest
. offer a Core Product – basic information on your subject
. offer a Profit Maximizer – a course or training program

Traffic Sources
Joining groups or starting your own group on social media such as Google, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, sell you targeted traffic. You can learn to drive traffic through tactics like Blogging, Facebook Ads or Email marketing.

The goal, no matter which traffic source you choose, is to drive prospects into your Funnel. You should master a single,
steady traffic source and, once mastered, add a second and third traffic source.

These would include:
Email Marketing – offers in emails.
Social Advertising (Facebook/Twitter/YouTube ads, etc.)
Banner Advertising – on your site or blog.
Solo Ads – various places to buy these.
Blogging – connected with blogging groups.
Organic Social Media – various Social Media.
SEO – set you blog up with keywords to get listed on Google.
Your traffic sources need a lead magnet or a free gift in exchange for an email address. You will need to provide great value with the Lead Magnet. Make this an irresistible offer.

The Lead Magnet is usually offered on a web page called a landing or squeeze page that is optimized to convert even cold traffic into leads. The optin page redirects to the thank you or download page, and usually a sales page.

A landing page does not need to be extensive. Simple is best.
Lead Magnets don’t have to be lengthy. Or complex. Or time-intensive to create.

You simply need to solve a specific problem with a specific solution for a specific segment of your market. Optin in to get your special gift.

They are generally very short (one page or so) and cut straight to an ultra-specific point. You can deliver these as simple checklists, mind maps or “blueprints” or short pdfs.

Emails are then sent out to your propects. You are able to send a newsletter to tell them what else is happening with your business and what further offers may be of interest to them. Very soft sell type of emails with the main objective being to tell them more about yourself and your business.

Communities bring people together…
If you can find a group of people who have a common goal and then bring them together by using a community… facebook group or LinkedIn etc. You are way ahead with this type of strategy.

Then you get seen as the expert and people look up to you. All you’ve really done is put the community together and invited people Setting up a group.

The best part about this is that your community will grow virally because other people will invite others to the community. Which means you generate more leads when you know how to persuade and influence the people in your community. If you still do not have your own community you need to get one set up because when you get it right, it is one of the fastest ways to enhance your credibility and authority.
Your best prospects are people on your list, or that you have known for a long time because they Know, Like and Trust you. This is Attraction Marketing at it’s finest.
